Four centuries of Dunfermline's history

Dunfermline Museum, Dunfermline

Completed: 2016    Budget: 1.765m    Size: 450m

Overview

This exciting project in Dunfermline sees the development of the town's Carnegie Library into a new museum, art gallery and library within the heart of the historic town centre. The museum will sit within a new-build extension that will serve to add capacity to the current library building and provide a range of new and enhanced services for visitors and library users.

The museum will focus on Dunfermline's history across the last four centuries, telling a story not currently addressed in other heritage locations. The project aims to increase the number of objects from within the museum collections currently on display and to improve physical and intellectual access to them.
